Fewer doors means the whole set can be sprayed in a single shop run rather than batched, the frames are masked and sprayed in an afternoon rather than over two days, and the total turnaround comes down at both ends. It is also the size at which painting most clearly beats replacing on value, because the labour is small and the alternative is not.

Getting more from the cabinetry you already have

Small kitchens usually have every inch already committed, so the win is not layout, it is light and consistency. A lighter cabinet colour with a satin rather than flat sheen bounces the limited light around, and taking the upper cabinets and the surrounding wall into the same tone stops the room reading as a series of separate boxes. Those are finish decisions, and they cost nothing extra to make well.

Sink base and range surround condition

In an older compact kitchen the damage is concentrated in two places: the cabinet under the sink and the ones flanking the range. The first has usually taken water, the second has taken heat and grease. Both are checked before quoting, because a swollen sink-base bottom needs cutting back and sealing rather than filling, and a grease-saturated frame beside a range needs solvent degreasing rather than a wipe.

One visit, one shop run, minimal disruption

For a kitchen this size the sequence is short: doors off and away, frames prepped and sprayed, doors back with hinges adjusted. You keep the sink, the fridge and the range throughout. Most of the disruption is confined to the day the frames are sprayed, when the kitchen is fully masked and best left alone.
