There is no single best white — it depends on your light. North-facing rooms (very common in older Ottawa neighborhoods like The Glebe and Centretown) need a warmer white like White Dove or Swiss Coffee, otherwise the room reads gray and cold.
South- and west-facing rooms can handle a cleaner white like Chantilly Lace (OC-65) or Simply White (OC-117) without going yellow.
For trim, go one or two steps brighter than your wall white — Chantilly Lace in semi-gloss is our default. For ceilings, use a dedicated flat ceiling paint (Benjamin Moore Waterborne Ceiling 508) tinted to match or one shade lighter than the walls.
